ADC: Our Mission Isn’t Complete While Nigerians Still Suffer
The Interim National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has said the party’s mission remains unfinished as long as Nigerians continue to suffer. He called on voters to support the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising a significant reduction in fuel prices and an end to the current wave of hunger across the country.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the former Minister of Youth and Sports Development emphasized the party’s commitment to offering a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Our job is only half done with the level of hunger in the country,” Abdullahi stated. “Nigerians are already aware of their suffering — what remains is for us to prove that we are the real alternative. Anyone struggling to feed or pay medical bills today knows things can't continue this way.”
He said the motivation behind creating the ADC was the worsening hardship brought on by the APC administration’s failed policies, particularly the sharp rise in fuel prices.
“Even vulcanizers now struggle to afford fuel for their machines. Parents giving children money for school can no longer cope — N5,000 now barely equals what N500 was before APC came in. Nigerians know who is responsible.”
Abdullahi accused the ruling party of deliberately destabilizing opposition parties like the PDP, SDP, LP, and others to weaken any real electoral challenge. According to him, this led responsible politicians from various platforms to unite under the ADC to offer Nigerians a fresh direction.
Looking ahead, Abdullahi said the ADC’s priorities are clear: ending hunger, slashing fuel prices, and restoring national security.
“I know what hunger feels like — I’ve experienced it. That’s why it will be the first thing we tackle. Next, fuel prices must come down; business owners can’t survive like this. We will also confront the growing insecurity that has reached areas like Patigi, Ifelodun, and Babanla in Kwara State. I can’t even access my own farm because of bandits.”
He added that ADC draws its strength from a coalition of former members of PDP, SDP, NNPP, LP, and others who are determined to return peace, stability, and dignity to Nigeria.
“With God’s help and the people’s support, we are ready to rescue Nigeria,” he concluded.
